"Together, we'll navigate the path to inspired leadership."

Pastor Demetrius D. McClendon Sr., affectionately known as ‘Pastor Mac,’ is a beyond-the-four-walls man of the faith. He serves as the founding pastor of One Church in Midlothian, Texas, where they are dedicated to building balanced lives of worship, building marriages, building families, and building you. With a sincere passion and clear vision to reach the world for the Kingdom of God, Pastor Mac fulfills several callings of husband, father, vocalist, songwriter, teacher, and preacher. He leads his flock with excellence, integrity, and the right touch of holy zeal and flair! Pastor Mac believes that it is the responsibility of every believer to live a life of worship that shows value to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Mac is committed to serving through his outreach on the Midlothian Pastor’s Leadership Team as the Chaplain for Panther Nation, the Midlothian Football Program. He also serves on the United Way EFSP Local Board, as the second Vice President of the Ellis County Southern Christian Leadership Conference, and as an advocate for justice, organizing Unity Walks in the Midlothian community. In 2017, he formed the first MLK Celebration for the City of Midlothian, which continues today.

Pastor Mac serves on numerous leadership boards, including the Ellis Baptist Association, 360Grassroots, Project Midlothian, FirstLook Pregnancy Center, The Heights (offering protection and support for battered families), The Lion’s Club, and the Advisory Board of Methodist Midlothian. He has also served as a chaplain with the Midlothian Police Department since 2007. Pastor Mac is a visionary and transformational leader. Every Monday through Friday at 6:30 am, you can join him as he hosts a virtual morning devotional entitled Mac in The Morning with followers across the globe.

As a typical “P.K.,” or preacher’s kid, Demetrius D. McClendon Sr. experienced the highs and lows of being the child of a pastor. At age fifteen, he surrendered to his call to preach the Gospel, describing his “wrestling match” in words much like the prophet Jeremiah: “But His Word was in my heart as a burning fire shut up in my bone.”

Pastor Mac holds a Bachelor of Arts in music with a concentration in vocal performance from Houston-Tillotson University, a Master of Arts in worship leadership, and a Master of Arts in theological studies from Dallas Baptist University. Pastor Mac completed a Th.M. from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University and is currently a doctoral candidate at Truett Seminary on the campus of Baylor University while simultaneously serving as a professor at the Southern Bible Institute and College, where he teaches the curriculum he authored, For Worship Leadership. He is an Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. member, established in 1906.

Pastor Mac was raised by Christian parents who showed him what a healthy marriage and family look like and the value of investing in men to bring out their God quality. Because of this, Pastor Mac challenges every man, as David did Solomon in I Kings 2:2, to be courageous and act like a man.

Pastor Mac is connected in marriage to his anchor and support of over 25 years, his wife, Alexis McClendon. To their union are daughters Mackenzie Alon (22) and Michaela Annise (19), son Demetrius II (14), and two fur babies, Carlie and Cosmo. His family is his motivation. His girls have entirely captured his heart, and his son, his man-child, will continue the name Demetrius D. McClendon.
